Caleb Farley of Virginia Tech made headlines last week when he became the first college football player to opt out of the 2020 season.
Farley, expected to be a first-round pick, cited health concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic when he made his decision.

One player he will not opt out of the upcoming college football season is LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
Chase’s father, Jimmy, spoke with Chris Hummer of 247Sports on Wednesday and said his son will play.
“He’s going to play the season out,” Jimmy Chase said. “He’s locked in with his team, and as long as everybody is healthy, he’s said he wants to play with his team and his teammates.
“He just loves the game, and he loves LSU. He wants to finish his career out in a positive manner,” the elder Chase continued.

While opting out of the season would be a wise decision for anyone with as much to lose as Chase, his decision is not only good for LSU but for college football fans, too.
Now, we just need there to be an actual season.
