LSU’s women’s basketball team had a lengthy break following a top-10 win over Virginia Tech, but it returned to the court on Sunday with a decisive 83-53 win over Louisiana to move to 9-1 on the young season as the Tigers have now won nine games in a row since dropping their season opener.
While they’ve moved back into the top five of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, they remain at No. 7 in the latest AP Top 25, where the team has stood since it lost to Colorado in its first game.
There were no changes overall to the top 10 this week. South Carolina remains No. 1, and the undefeated Gamecocks received every first-place vote.

After five straight weeks at No. 7, LSU will hope that can change with home games this week against McNeese and Northwestern State.
