Despite some losses from teams ranked above it in Iowa and UConn, the LSU women’s basketball team held firm at No. 7 in this week’s AP Top 25 poll.
The Tigers began the year as the No. 1 team in the country after winning the first national title in program history last season, but they lost their opener to a Colorado team that now ranks third.
Since then, LSU has won four games in a row, but those victories have come against lesser opponents and didn’t really give the Tigers a chance to boost their resume considerably.
That will change later on in the non-conference slate when LSU faces a Virginia Tech team that currently ranks ninth, but for now, the Tigers will have to keep winning to crack the top five once again.
For the second straight week LSU is ranked No. 7 in the AP Poll
