LSU women’s basketball remains No. 3 in AP Poll ahead of massive contest vs. No. 1 South Carolina

The Tigers remained perfect with a win on Sunday ahead of their matchup against another undefeated opponent next weekend.

LSU women’s basketball’s 72-66 win on Sunday against a Texas A&M team with a losing record was a bit too close for comfort, but Kim Mulkey’s squad managed to remain perfect at 23-0 and 11-0 in SEC play.

The Tigers held onto their No. 3 ranking in the AP Top 25 following that game heading into what is easily the biggest matchup of the season on Sunday against the No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks.

The defending national champions also sit at 23-0 and are the only other remaining unbeaten team in college basketball. Dawn Staley’s group narrowly remained unbeaten on Sunday with a tight, four-point win on the road against a very good UConn team.

The winner of Sunday’s contest will be in the driver’s seat in the SEC and may become the favorite to win the national championship. Click here for the full AP Top 25 as we enter a crucial week for LSU’s team.
