The Tigers suffered their second loss of the 2023 campaign on Saturday night, coming up short in a 55-49 shootout on the road against Ole Miss.
Unsurprisingly, that loss caused a significant drop for LSU, which began the year in the top five but is now just barely clinging on to a ranking in both polls.
The Tigers were the biggest faller in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll, dropping 11 spots to No. 23, and they had a 10-spot drop to the same ranking in this week’s AP Top 25.
LSU’s freefall was one of the few major changes this week. The top 10 remained largely intact aside from new No. 8 Oregon and No. 9 USC swapping spots.
Here’s the full AP poll following the conclusion of Week 5.
