LSU had the chance to push for a spot in the top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings with a win on the road against Alabama in Week 10. Instead, the Tigers fell 42-28 in Tuscaloosa, ending their hopes of repeating as SEC West champions and likely of reaching the New Year’s Six.
It also meant LSU took a tumble in this week’s rankings. In the second edition of the CFP rankings, the Tigers — which previously ranked 14th — fell out of the top 15, though they do still remain in the top 20 despite having three losses.
