Entering Week 3, LSU had dropped all the way to the No. 5 spot in On3’s SEC rankings. After a huge win on the road against Mississippi State, the Tigers jumped all the way up to No. 2.
The Tigers jumped a few spots not only because of their big win but they were a beneficiary of a few upsets in the conference. Tennessee fell from second all the way to sixth after being upset by the Florida Gators in the swamp and Arkansas dropped from fourth to 11th after losing at home to BYU.
The Gators were the biggest movers after their victory over Tennessee followed by LSU, Ole Miss and Missouri, who all gained three spots. Missouri used a last-second 61-yard field goal to knock off then No. 15 Kansas State at home.
This sets up a very interesting matchup this week in Tuscaloosa as Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels take on an Alabama team that looks rough.
