LSU RB Tyrion Davis-Price scheduled to visit Jaguars

Could the Jaguars add LSU RB Tyrion Davis-Price to the roster during or after this month’s draft?

Louisiana State running back Tyrion Davis-Price had a career season during his junior season in 2021, even though the Tigers went through a down year as a team.

He averaged 4.8 yards a carry, accumulated over 1,000 yards, and also was able to garner six touchdowns. Davis-Price also had a record-breaking game versus Florida where he gashed the Gators for 287 yards and three touchdowns. He elected to skip the Tigers’ bowl game and declared for the NFL draft.

Ahead of the event this month, Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson reported that Davis-Price has visits lined up with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Commanders, and Carolina Panthers. He is also set to meet with the Houston Texans before LSU’s Pro Day on Wednesday.

Wilson writes that Davis-Price has outstanding size, vision, and power, breaking tackles routinely. He also has good hands out of the backfield and excels in pass protection.

At the combine, Davis-Price ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds and recorded a 30-inch vertical leap and a 9’9″ broad jump.

The Jaguars would be wise to add help at running back later this month as James Robinson and Travis Etienne are coming off season-ending injuries. Price is an option the Jags may not have to spend a selection on, though, as NFL Network gave him a backup role grade (6.16).
