LSU QB Myles Brennan ‘questionable’ vs. South Carolina with injury

LSU could be without Myles Brennan as it prepares to face South Carolina on Saturday.

The LSU Tigers were expected to be without starting quarterback Myles Brennan against Florida, and the postponement of the game gave the team an extra week for the quarterback to heal from a “significant lower-body injury.”

Orgeron also said that Brennan wouldn’t have been able to take the field against Florida, and that it would have been one of two freshman quarterbacks — T.J. Finley or Max Johnson — taking the snaps instead.

The head coach said he’s been very impressed with the progress both have made, saying he believed each of them had NFL-level talent.

That could very well be the case again this week, considering that Brennan is questionable. Orgeron mentioned that if this is the case, A.J. Aycock would be the third quarterback in line.

“It’s taking a little bit more time to heal,” Orgeron said of Brennan’s injury. “We thought he’d be back today, but he’s not and I don’t know if he’s going to play this game.”

The Tigers are set to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks next at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday in Tiger Stadium.
