LSU officially announces Jimmy Lindsey as new defensive line coach

Lindsey spent the last two seasons in the same role at South Carolina.

[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] officially added the final member of his on-field staff on Monday as [autotag]Jimmy Lindsey[/autotag] takes over as defensive line coach after holding the same role at South Carolina for the last two seasons.

His hiring was reported late last week, and LSU officially announced the addition on Monday. He’ll replace [autotag]Jamar Cain[/autotag], who left earlier this offseason to take a role on the Denver Broncos coaching staff.

Lindsey coached a number of talented defensive linemen with the Gamecocks, namely Zacch Pickens, who was taken by the Chicago Bears in the third round of last weekend’s 2023 NFL draft. Before joining Shane Beamer’s staff, he spent one season as the defensive ends coach at Illinois following a three-season stint at Western Kentucky.

He has spent more than two decades as an assistant coach at the college level making stops at several programs, including multiple stints at his alma mater, Chattanooga.
