The Tigers had some issues in the early goings of the season, but they’ve now won three games in a row.
Most recently, LSU’s defense delivered a shutout against Army in a 62-0 homecoming win. It was a step in the right direction for a unit that has struggled mightily through the first half of the season, even if it came against a service academy opponent.
That performance allowed the Tigers to jump several teams in the top 10, including Washington, which barely survived at home against Arizona State after a rough outing from previous Heisman frontrunner Michael Penix Jr.
