In news that should come as absolutely no surprise, LSU fans are indeed running the show so far at the College World Series Jell-O Shot Challenge at Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina in Omaha.
The annual challenge pits fans from the different CWS programs against each other in a challenge to see who can down the most Jell-O shots, and this year, all the proceeds for the $5 shots are going to both local food banks and food banks representing the communities from the eight CWS teams.
LSU fans are known for traveling extremely well to Omaha, and to the shock of no one, the Tigers’ faithful has a massive early lead. At the noon CT update on Saturday, LSU led the field at 3,395 shots, more than 1,000 more than Wake Forest, which currently sits in second.

LSU opens up its CWS run against Tennessee on Saturday afternoon, and if the Tigers can stick around in Omaha for a while, the bayou representation may be able to push the record set by Ole Miss last fall, which totaled nearly 19,000 Jell-O shots.
