LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to repair a foot injury

LSU’s Derek Stingley Jr. has undergone surgery to repair an injury to his foot, and is out indefinitely, Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron announced Wednesday morning.

I appreciate all of the support from LSU and the fans,” Stingley said in a statement (per SI’s Ross Dellenger). “I’m doing all that I can to return to the field as soon as possible. I want to finish out the season with my teammates and I will do everything I can to get healthy so that I will be able to play again this year.”

Stingley has already missed time due to injury this season, but it still widely regarded as the top corner prospect in the 2022 NFL draft class, and a lock to be selected among the top five picks.
