After winning a national title with LSU this past season, catcher [autotag]Hayden Travinski[/autotag] is adding a piece of personal hardware.
Travinski was named the 2023 Carl Mikovich Shreveport Sportsperson of the Year by the Independence Bowl. The Shreveport native played his high school ball at Airline High School and Loyola College Prep.
A starter at catcher as a redshirt junior, Travinski batted .356 with 10 home runs — two of which came in the regional — and 30 RBI this season. He battled injuries in the latter part of the postseason and missed some time, but he was a major bat for the Tigers all year.

Travinski wasn’t selected in the 2023 MLB draft, and he will instead be returning to LSU for what will be his fifth and final season.
