Louisville clinches second ACC title game spot to set up showdown with Seminoles

The undefeated Seminoles and the Louisville Cardinals will battle in Charlotte on Dec. 2 for the ACC title.

Louisville defeated Miami on Saturday to cement their spot as the second team in the ACC title game, meaning the No. 10 Cardinals and No. 4 Florida State are set to battle in the conference championship.

The game will take place on December 2 in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium.

The Seminoles, who remain undefeated so far this season, clinched their place in the conference’s final game with a victory over Pittsburgh on Nov. 4. FSU has more than the conference trophy on its mind, as the ranking indicates Mike Norvell’s squad controls its own destiny for the College Football Playoff. This is Florida State’s sixth appearance in the conference title game, including four times in five years from 2010-2014, but the Seminoles have not been back since that run.

The Cardinals, on the other hand, will make their first appearance in the ACC title game in their first season under head coach Jeff Brohm. Brohm, who spent the 2017-22 seasons with Purdue, also led the Boilermakers to their first Big Ten title game appearance last season.
