Louisville at Clemson odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Louisville at Clemson odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Louisville Cardinals (6-3, 3-3 ACC) meet the No. 12 Clemson Tigers (8-1, 6-0) Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Louisville vs. Clemson odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Cardinals posted an impressive 34-10 win over James Madison last week, winning and covering for the 4th consecutive game. Louisville’s win also clinched bowl eligibility, and it is now 6-2 against the spread (ATS) in  the last 8 games.

The Tigers were shocked 35-14 on the road against Notre Dame, and it tumbled to No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings as a result.

Clemson’s 14 points last week was a season low, as it had 27 or more points in every previous game this season. The Tigers have failed to cover the last 2 games, and they’re 3-5 ATS in the last 8 games.

Louisville at Clemson picks and predictions

Prediction

Clemson 33, Louisville 21

Moneyline

Clemson (-280) will cost you nearly 3 times your potential return, and that’s just too risky for a team coming off a 21-point loss last weekend.

PASS.

Against the spread

Take CLEMSON -7 (-108) laying the touchdown. Really, this could go either way. The Tigers could pout, and respond horribly to last weekend’s disappointment, or it could come back home, respond favorably, and get back on track by taking out its aggressions on Louisville +7 (-112).

I am banking on the latter, as Clemson is a well-coached team with plenty of experience, and it won’t let the disappointment of last week’s loss ruin the season. Clemson is still unbeaten in the ACC, and on track to represent the Atlantic Division in Charlotte.

Over/Under

OVER 52 (-110) is the lean, but play this very lightly.

Nearly all of the trends point to an Over result here. Clemson has cashed the Over in 5 of the last 7 games, while going 4-1 in the last 5 against teams with a winning record.

The Over has cashed in 4 of the last 5 inside the ACC for Louisville, too, while going 9-4 in the last 13 games in the month of November. The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in this series, too.
