The Los Angeles Dodgers look to bounce back from a tough Game 1 loss when they meet the Atlanta Braves Sunday. First pitch is set for 7:38 p.m. ET at Truist Park. Let’s analyze the lines around the Dodgers vs. Braves odds with MLB picks and predictions.
Dodgers RHP Max Scherzer is expected to make his third start of the postseason. During the regular season he was 15-4 with a 2.46 ERA. 0.86 WHIP, 1.8 BB/9 and 11.8 K/9 through 179 1/3 IP across 30 starts.
- Scherzer faced the Braves twice this season, and on both occasions racked up 9 K in 6 IP. He allowed a total of 4 ER across 12 IP in the two starts.
- He allowed 5 ER in each of his last two regular season starts, but he has turned things around in the playoffs. In three appearances (two starts) he has put up a 1.46 ERA and 11.7 K/9.
Braves RHP Ian Anderson is set to make his second postseason start in Game 2. During the regular season he was 9.5 with a 3.58 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, 3.7 BB/9 and 8.7 K/9 through 128 1/3 IP.

Prediction
Dodgers 4, Braves 3
Money line (ML)
Scherzer joined the Dodgers at the trade deadline, and they had won all 12 of his starts before last week’s 1-0 loss to the Giants, one that certainly can’t be blamed on him. They also tied for the third-best road record in the league at 48-33.
Even so, this is a little too much to lay against a hot Atlanta team in their home park. It’s probably best to PASS on the money line.
Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
Anderson had some issues with the long ball late in the year but has allowed just 3 ER in 18 IP over his last three starts. He boasts an impressive 15.2% swinging strike rate in his last five trips to the mound.
The Braves face a very tough test today against Scherzer, but they have won eight of their last nine at home. Even if they fall short, look for them to keep it close throughout. Back the BRAVES +1.5 (-112)
Over/Under (O/U)
The under has hit in five of Atlanta’s last six game and in five of the last seven for the Dodgers. The total has also slid in under in each of the last five meetings between these two teams.
With Scherzer and Anderson on the mound, runs will be hard to come by again. UNDER 7.5 (-115) is the side to take in this one as we could be in for a pitchers’ duel.
