The Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) are on the road in Week 9 facing the Philadelphia Eagles (3-5) in a late afternoon game. They kick off Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field. Below, we look at the Chargers vs. Eagles odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Chargers were once 4-1 and looked like one of the favorites in the AFC. They have now lost two games in a row. QB Justin Herbert was picked off twice in a 27-24 home loss to the New England Patriots last week.

The Eagles blew out the Detroit Lions 44-6 last week on the road. They rushed for 236 yards and 4 touchdowns as a team. Defensively, they allowed only 228 total yards and had 6 sacks.

Chargers at Eagles odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Eagles 30, Chargers 26

Money line

The Eagles somehow have not won yet at home this season, while the Chargers are 2-1 on the road this season.

The Eagles will present a challenge to the Chargers’ defense because they rely on their rushing attack. Los Angeles is dead last in rush defense, allowing 159.6 rushing yards per game.

Plus, the Chargers will be missing a pair of cornerbacks, making them susceptible to the pass, even though the Eagles have the sixth-worst passing attack in the league.

The Chargers’ absences on defense will be the difference.

Take the underdog EAGLES (+100).

Against the spread

The Chargers are 4-3 ATS this season and the Eagles are 4-4 ATS.

The Chargers have not covered the spread in their last two games. The Eagles have covered the spread in three of their last four games.

Expecting the Eagles to win this game outright, I also take them to cover.

Take the EAGLES +1.5 (-108).

Over/Under

The Eagles’ last two games and four games of their last six have gone Over the projected total.

For the Chargers, only two games this season have hit the Over, but those two came in the last three weeks.

I expect a high-scoring affair Sunday. Take OVER 48.5 (-115).
