Lorenz Larkin drops back down to welterweight for Bellator 283, fights Mukhamed Berkhamov

Former UFC contender Lorenz Larkin will look to continue his lengthy streak of Bellator success.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – [autotag]Lorenz Larkin[/autotag] is headed back down.

After a couple of bouts at middleweight, Larkin (24-7 MMA, 6-2 BMMA) returns to welterweight July 22 to battle [autotag]Mukhamed Berkhamov[/autotag] (14-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) at Bellator 283, a promotion official Friday informed MMA Junkie.

The card takes place at Emerald Queen Hotel & Casino in Tacoma, Wash. and airs on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie.

Larkin, 35, enters Bellator 283 on a six-fight winning streak despite being intermittently active during his promotional tenure. He most recently defeated Kyle Stewart by first-round TKO at Bellator 280 in May.

Berkhamov, 28, has won 12 straight fights. He won his Bellator debut in January against Jaleel Willis by submission.
