Some of the best images from the Commanders’ win over the Broncos.

The Washington Commanders improved to 2-0 Sunday after defeating the Denver Broncos, 35-33. Washington trailed 21-3 at one point before the defensive line, and quarterback Sam Howell engineered an impressive comeback.

Washington’s 35 points were the most it scored since a 41-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day in 2020.

Defensive end Chase Young returned for the Commanders and looked like the 2020 version of himself that won the NFL defensive rookie of the year award before a devastating knee injury in 2021. Young had 1.5 sacks in Washington’s win, leading a dominant performance that finished with seven sacks and forced two turnovers.

The Commanders survived a scare at the end when Russell Wilson’s hail mary attempt was batted back instead of forward, giving the Broncos a surprising touchdown. However, cornerback Benjamin St-Juste broke up Wilson’s two-point conversion attempt, preserving an impressive come-from-behind win.
