Here’s a look back at Payton Thorne’s time as a Spartan.

The Auburn Tigers and head coach [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] received a gift on May 5 as they learned that former Michigan State quarterback [autotag]Payton Thorne[/autotag] announced that he would be transferring to Auburn.

The addition of Thorne is paramount to the Auburn quarterback room, as he instantly becomes the most experienced quarterback on Auburn’s roster. According to Pro Football Focus, he appeared in 29 games over three years for the Spartans, totaling 1,817 snaps.

He made the most of his playing time as well. Over those three seasons, he passed for 6,493 yards and 49 touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for 270 yards and six more scores.
