LOOK: Justin Jefferson rocks Madden 99 cleats at practice

Justin Jefferson wore an exclusive pair of cleats given to player’s who earn a 99 overall in Madden at Saturday’s practice.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson donned an exclusive pair of cleats for training camp.

Following Saturday’s practice session, the Vikings’ Twitter account shared a Tweet that showed Jefferson wearing a pair of gold cleats.

The cleats are awarded to any player that earns a 99 overall rating from EA Sports for the Madden video game. Jefferson was one of five players given a 99 overall for Madden 24 and the only wide receiver.

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald (Los Angeles Rams), offensive guard Zack Martin (Dallas Cowboys), tight end Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs), and quarterback Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) were the other players who earned the highest possible rating in the game.

Jefferson’s rating shouldn’t come as a surprise after he led the NFL in receiving last season with 1,809 yards and was named the 2022 Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year.

At the release of Madden 23, Jefferson was the sixth-highest-rated player at a 93 overall.
