Alabama football finished as the No. 1 in the nation after going undefeated and winning a national championship. The Crimson Tide were head-and-shoulders better than everyone else in the SEC.
The Alabama basketball program isn’t undefeated, but with a three-game lead in the SEC, it looks like they are way ahead of the pack in that sport too.
Aaron Torres with Fox Sports Radio pointed out the similarities between the football and basketball teams on Wednesday night following Missouri’s 59-80 loss to Ole Miss.
“So with Missouri’s loss tonight, Alabama now has a three-game lead in the SEC standings, with five teams – FIVE – tied for second in the loss column,” Torres tweeted. “Basically SEC hoops has become SEC football: Alabama… a big gap… and everyone else.”

At this point, Alabama fans will certainly take the compliment.
They might not be ready to assume the basketball team is going to slaughter any and everyone that get in their way like the football team, but this is a certainly different squad than we’re used to seeing.
Head coach Nate Oats has this team heading in the right direction, and more people are noticing.
