The Texas Longhorns are advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after a dominant 81-61 win over the Colgate Raiders on Thursday night.
No. 2 Texas was a 13-point favorite over No. 15 Colgate, but the Longhorns managed to exceed those expectations. The Raiders entered the contest No. 1 in the NCAA with a 40.8% three-pointer percentage. However, it was Rodney Terry’s squad that was hot behind the arc on Thursday.
Texas guard Sir’Jabari Rice was the star of the night, finishing 7-of-10 from three-point range and had 23 points. Marcus Carr and Dylan Disu each finished with 17 points respectively.
The Longhorns will now take on No. 10 Penn State on Saturday evening in the Round of 32. The Nittany Lions are coming off a dominant performance of their own, defeating No. 7 Texas A&M 76-59 on Thursday.
