No. 11 Texas got off to a slow start against Rice on Saturday, but eventually took off in the second half to defeat the Owls 37-10.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers finished the game with 260 passing yards, four total touchdowns and no interceptions. Although the interior offensive line struggled throughout the game, Ewers is still seemingly unable to connect on the deep ball.
Xavier Worthy led the team in receiving with seven receptions for 90 yards. However, the bright spot on the day was Texas’ defense, who managed to force three turnovers and pressure Rice quarterback JT Daniels consistently.
