Longhorns Wire staff predictions for ULM Warhawks at Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns Wire staff makes its predictions for Texas’ matchup with the ULM Warkhawks in Austin.

The Texas Longhorns wrap up non-conference play at home against UL Monroe Saturday night. Texas has rolled through Colorado State, Michigan and UTSA with relative ease.

Arch Manning will start the game in place of the injured Quinn Ewers. Manning accounted for five touchdowns in relief vs. UTSA.

In preseason, ULM was forecast to be one of the worst teams in FBS this season. But the Warhawks are 2-0 and have outscored their opponents 62-20.

Jamie Gatlin’s Prediction:

On Saturday, Arch Manning will make the first start of his college career against LMU. The talented freshman dominated last week against UTSA after Quinn Ewers suffered an injury. Due to their elite offense, the Longhorns will be heavy favorites entering this matchup. This should be a game Texas dominates.

Final Score: Texas 52, LMU 7

Trey Luerssen’s Prediction:

I think this one gets out of hand pretty early. There might be some jitters from Arch Manning, who is starting for the first time. It’s a different mindset than coming in off the bench. But even if there’s a slow start, the talent on Texas is too superior for the Warhawks to keep up. I don’t think there will be a shutout. ULM’s offense has been pretty good so far, albeit against much weaker defenses,

Final Score: Texas 56, LMU 7
