Longhorns Wire staff predictions for Georgia Bulldogs at Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns will look to keep their undefeated season alive, and the Bulldogs will look to climb the national rankings

Two of the best teams in college football will meet on Saturday in the Georgia Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns will look to keep their undefeated season alive, and the Bulldogs will look to climb the national rankings.

Entering this matchup, Georgia is undefeated in conference play. They have been led by Carson Beck, who has already added 1,818 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns to his resume. He has also gotten some help from running back from Trevor Etienne, who is averaging 5.3 yards per carry.

They will be tasked with stopping an offense led by Quinn Ewers and a defense led by Anthony Hill Jr. Due to its star-studded cast, this matchup should provide plenty of memorable moments.

Jamie Gatlin’s Prediction:

On Saturday, the Texas Longhorns will face their toughest test of the season in the Georgia Bulldogs. They are ranked as the fifth-best team in the nation and have two straight games. However, they have a lot on the line, as they have already lost two games this season.

As the Bulldogs look to keep their playoff hopes alive, they will face a talented Longhorns team. Entering this matchup, the Longhorns are averaging 43.2 points a game and have scored at least 30 points in every game this season. They have shown no signs of slowing down and are poised for a big afternoon against the Bulldogs.

With a healthy roster, the Longhorns present a tough challenge for Georgia. The Bulldogs will not only have to shut down Quinn Ewers and his plethora of weapons but also solve a defense that has been one of the best in the country. Expect the Longhorns’ undefeated streak to continue on Saturday.

Final Score: Texas 38 Georgia 14

Trey Luerssen’s Prediction:

From a Longhorns perspective, the thing that scares me is that Georgia comes in desperate.

A loss doesn’t necessarily knock the Bulldogs out of college football playoff contention, but they may not completely hold their fate in their hands anymore. A loss would give Georgia zero margin for error for the rest of the year. Another loss ends their playoff chances.

Texas is riding high, feeling good, and trying to keep the hype train rollin’. Happy to be here in the SEC. Georgia is fighting for their season. Past iterations of the Longhorns, I’d be very, very pessimistic. These are the games Texas always seems to be taking down a peg. But this isn’t a team from the past.

This Texas team seems to stay hungry. They haven’t failed yet. It would be unfair to them to just assume they will. What the eyes tell me, based on the 2024 version of the Longhorns, is the Horns are the better team.

Has Texas benefitted from what became an easier schedule? We’ll see. Georgia is a talented team that was Preseason No. 1 for a reason. But UT has been better at almost every position this season.

Until proven otherwise, this team looks championship caliber legit.
