There is no surprise here, as the Longhorns will not appear in the rankings again this season.
Texas is in the middle of a four-game losing streak, all of which they led at one point, and three of the losses saw the Longhorns leading by double-digits. Steve Sarkisian has found himself in the same predicament that he did at the beginning of the season, which is unsure of who the starting quarterback is and lacking an overall identity.
The most recent loss to Iowa State was likely the worst of the season, and put an effective nail in the coffin of Texas’ hopes of making it to the Big 12 title game. While the Longhorns aren’t featured in the poll, there are several Big 12 teams.
