To Cincinnati Bengals fans, linebacker Logan Wilson has become a star. He was a key piece in Cincinnati’s run to the Super Bowl last season.
For fans of other teams, they may not still be fully aware of how good Wilson has become since the Bengals drafted him in the third round in 2020.
Thanks to Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report, more fans will be introduced to the former Wyoming linebacker who tallied 100 tackles in 2021.
Davenport gave his picks for each team’s “best-kept secret” and he chose Wilson for the Bengals:
A third-round pick out of Wyoming, it didn’t take Wilson all that long to work his way into a prominent role in the Queen City. After playing sporadically as a rookie, Wilson won the job as the team’s middle linebacker in his second season. In 13 games (all starts) for the Bengals in 2021, Wilson piled up 100 total tackles, the most for the team.
Wilson is unfortunately best known for the holding penalty that set up the game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl LVI, but for the most part, he was capable in coverage as well, posting a passer rating against less than 90.
And while Wilson broke out last year, the general vibe is correct — there’s a chance he just keeps on ascending too, meaning he won’t be much of a secret much longer.
