In an interview with The Camp on Thursday, the Badgers’ leading receiver from 2022, Chimere Dike, spoke highly of transfer quarterback Tanner Mordecai.
Mordecai transferred to Wisconsin in January after spending two successful seasons with Southern Methodist University (SMU). He passed for 3,524 yards and 33 touchdowns last season for the Mustangs. After he transferred from Oklahoma to SMU ahead of the 2021 campaign, he spent one season under Sonny Dykes before the coach left for TCU.
He will spend his final year of eligibility under new head coach Luke Fickell (Cincinnati) and offensive coordinator Phil Longo (North Carolina) and his “Air Raid” offense.
#Badgers WR Chimere Dike says new QB @t_mordecai has already established himself as a leader in the locker room.
“If you’re going to be under center, you need to be someone people can look towards and he definitely is.”
