[autotag]Austin Dillon[/autotag] knew he needed to make it dirty to win at Richmond Raceway, and while it was controversial, it worked out in his favor. Dillon drove through Joey Logano in Turn 3 and made contact with Denny Hamlin exiting Turn 4. At the end of the night, the driver of the No. 3 car found himself standing alone with his team in victory lane.
Yet, there will be discussions over the next day on whether Dillon should be penalized for wrecking Hamlin. The contact with Logano will likely stand; however, Dillon may have hooked Hamlin across the front stretch in the final moments. If so, a one-race suspension could be looming, and based on the No. 3 team radio, there could be even more penalties.

I guess the precedent has been set that intentionally wrecking multiple drivers, including the forbidden right hook while your spotter yells “WRECK HIM” is now legal pic.twitter.com/fibMSAy2Rs

Dillon’s spotter appeared to scream, “Wreck him,” in the final moments of the race at Richmond. It’s not a good look for the No. 3 team, but the SMT data will ultimately determine whether anything comes from the incidents on Sunday night.
