Lions’ work since Week 2 makes Seahawks look really good

Detroit is 3-1 on the year so far… but who gave them the “1”?

The Seattle Seahawks pulled off one of the bigger upsets of the season so far when they knocked off the Detroit Lions 37-31 in overtime. It was already a big deal then, but in the weeks since, it’s starting to look like a really huge win for Seattle.

Right now, the Lions are 3-1 and sit perched atop the NFC North. Their wins, of course, include Week 1 over the Chiefs in Kansas City, a 20-6 dismantling of the previously undefeated Atlanta Falcons, and dominating the Green Bay Packers 34-20 in their building on Thursday Night Football.

Yeah, Detroit appears to be good. Really good.

Naturally, by extension, this also makes the Seahawks look pretty dang good themselves for being able to withstand the Lions’ current reign of terror.

When Seattle defeated Detroit, the initial thought was the Seahawks picked up a crucial tiebreaker win. Afterall, it was the head-to-head tiebreaker win Seattle had over the Lions last year that allowed them to make the playoffs over Detroit, since both teams finished 9-8. But the way the Lions are playing right now, the Wild Card might not be on the table for them.

Through the first month of football, Detroit easily looks like the best team in the NFC North, and they have the record to prove it.
