Lions trading former No. 3 overall pick Jeff Okudah to Falcons

Jeff Okudah is heading from Detroit to Atlanta

Jeff Okudah will try and make his NFL career a success in Atlanta.

The former No. 3 overall pick by Detroit is being dealt to the Falcons by the Lions.

In return for Okudah, the Lions will receive a 2023 fifth-round pick.

That should give you an idea of how the selection of Okudah did not work out for Detroit.

He played in 25 of a possible 50 games in three seasons with the Lions, 15 in 2022. A top CB prospect out of Ohio State, Okudah leaves Detroit with 124 combined tackles and 2 interceptions (one pick-six) in 22 starts.

By trading Okudah, the Lions unloaded $5.182 million in guaranteed money owed to the CB. Atlanta has until May 1 to decide whether to exercise Okudah’s fifth-year option.
