Lions move on the NFC Championship Game, beat Bucs 31-23

Baker Mayfield threw three touchdown passes for the Bucs but was picked off to start and end the game.

The Detroit Lions, after more than 30 years without winning a playoff game, have now won 2 playoff games in as many weeks. On Sunday at home, they moved on to the NFC Championship Game with a 31-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After entering the fourth quarter tied 17-17, the Lions scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns and took advantage of two Baker Mayfield interceptions.

Mayfield threw three touchdown passes but threw interceptions on the first and last possessions of the game.

Jared Goff passed for 287 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

The Lions are now one win away from the Super Bowl but will have to face the San Francisco 49ers in the conference championship game on the road.

The 49ers moved on with a 24-21 come-from-behind win over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday.
