Lions injury update: Taylor Decker sits out, Emmanuel Moseley’s timeline takes another hit

Decker continues to sit out with his ankle, while Moseley developed another issue that kept him out on Wednesday

The Detroit Lions held a walk-through practice session on Wednesday, one that was closed to the media. The team did produce an injury report based on likely availability, and a couple of developments on the team’s update are not positive.

Foremost is the ankle injury that is plaguing starting left tackle Taylor Decker. After missing Tuesday’s practice, Decker was also listed as out for Wednesday. Decker played through the injury in Week 1 and played well, but we’ve not seen the veteran leader since he left Kansas City in a walking boot.

Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley was also listed as “did not participate” which is somewhat expected as he attempts to return from two knee surgeries in the last 11 months. But it’s why Moseley was listed out for Wednesday’s session that raises a flag.

Instead of it being the knee as the reason, Moseley was also listed with a heretofore unknown hamstring issue. It’s a setback for Moseley, who still has not practiced with the team since signing as a free agent this offseason.

The good news for the Lions is that the only other player who did not participate was CB Khalil Dorsey, who was listed as out with an illness.

The final injury report with game availability status comes out after Friday’s practice session.
