Lincoln Riley explains why USC agreed to Big Noon Saturday vs Colorado

#USC had to agree to the early start time against Colorado. Lincoln Riley outlined the Trojans’ thought process.

USC had to consent to the early start time for the Colorado game on September 30. The game will begin after 10 a.m. local time in Boulder, just after 9 a.m. Pacific time.

Why did USC agree to the Big Noon Saturday kickoff on Fox? Lincoln Riley told 247Sports why he and USC ultimately went along with it:

“We definitely had a conversation back and forth,” Riley said. “In an ideal world, it probably wouldn’t have hit after the late away game [at Arizona State]. That was honestly to me really the only potential drawback of it. So we were able to put out a mock schedule and then we scratched through it on our end what that would look like because obviously when you play that early it moves some things up in the week. I think one of the big things for us was coming off of a bye week, it didn’t feel like it was going to be that big of a deal. Our guys are going to be pretty rested. I think we might have felt maybe a little different if we were in the middle of a six or seven game stretch.”
