Leslie Nielsen invades Detroit: Become Human in this glorious video edit

Someone edited Leslie Nielsen into Detroit: Become Human, automatically making the game much better.

How do you make a video game full of heavy-handed and awkward political commentary tolerable? By releasing a version with the late great Leslie Nielsen, it seems.

Earlier this week, YouTuber eli_handle_b․wav uploaded a video of Detroit: Become Human with Nielsen as the protagonist (Thanks, PC Gamer). Footage from the actor’s most famous on-screen roles, such as Police Squad, Naked Gun, and Wrongfully Accused, is spliced into Quantic Dream’s robotic narrative-driven detective story with such ease that you could swear in-game scenes were written for this. Or perhaps it’s too easy to mock anything that David Cage works on — let’s go with that.

Check out the video for yourself below. If you need a laugh, this should do the trick, and then some.

The stand-off utterly slays me. We should make it an industry-wide practice to stuff legendary comedians into stories that handle particular subject matter carelessly. Can you tell that I dislike Detroit: Become Human? It’s not very good!

It’s no surprise that this mash-up is so good. Several weeks ago, eli_handle_b․wav also made Indiana Jones explore Elden Ring‘s world to incredible results. That’s probably this YouTuber’s best work still, too.
