As the Cincinnati Bengals get ready to take on the Buffalo Bills on primetime, comparisons pitting the former’s Joe Burrow against the latter’s Josh Allen aren’t uncommon.
But only a few rare ones are as wild as LeSean McCoy’s take.
The former NFL running back, appearing on “Speak,” said Allen is simply a better quarterback and used the problem-riddled suggestion that Allen would be even better if he had Burrow’s weapons like Ja’Marr Chase.
The argument fell into a tail spin from there, with Shady having to admit that Burrow did, indeed, beat Allen in the playoffs last year. There was also mention of Allens’ performance against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in recent years, without bringing up the same for Burrow. Also a mention of toughness, right after Burrow just played through the calf injury (never mind the appendix last year, etc.).
Of course, Shady is seemingly a bit biased after actually playing with Allen in Buffalo. And for Bengals fans, this isn’t new — McCoy at one point tried to say he couldn’t see the difference between Burrow and Steelers passer Kenny Pickett.
But the reactions this take drummed up are truly something to see, so here we go.
