Leonard Fourntette says ‘touchdowns coming soon’ in apology to his fantasy managers

His real team could use those touchdowns too.

Shoutout to those of us with Leonard Fournette on our fantasy teams this year. We’re part of an exclusive club of people dealing with the consequences of what has been just a joyless sack of nothing from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense.

That offense has produced just two touchdowns through the first two weeks of the season, and neither was from our beloved Lenny, rendering him a potential trade block candidate unless something changes soon.

Well, good news on that front. Fournette himself is promising that much-needed change. He sent a tweet Monday morning promising his fantasy mangers some touchdowns soon.

To Fournette’s credit, it hasn’t been all bad for him. He rushed for over 125 yards in Week 1 against the Cowboys. And though he managed just 65 yards in Week 2, his 24 carries shows just how involved he remains in the offense. It’s only a matter of time before the positive results follow, though Week 3 may be tough. The Green Bay Packers haven’t allowed a touchdown to a running back yet this season.

My only other ask of Mr. Fournette is to add a few more catches to the stat sheet. He only has four for 19 yards. That wish may get granted sooner than the other after news of Mike Evans’ suspension for fighting in Sunday’s game.
