Leonard Floyd: Bills defense dominated Cowboys because they knew ‘it’s a must-win game’

How the #Bills defense found an extra gear against the #Cowboys, in their own words:

The Buffalo Bills smothered the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15. They barely stood a chance.

The Bills defense gave a top-tier Cowboys offense nothing. Dallas (10-4) came to Buffalo (8-6) on a five-game winning streak, scoring at least 33 points in each of those.

The Bills beat the Cowboys in a 31-10 final. By the time their lone touchdown went on the board, the game was over.

Buffalo’s offense and James Cook rolled as the running back had 179 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The Bills defense did much of the same and production came from every level of the unit.

In the case of pass rusher Leonard Floyd, he earned an incentive bonus from his contract by reaching 10.5 sacks when he took down Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Money and domination aside, Floyd noted after the win that the pressure built this diamond that Buffalo’s defense put out on the field.

“Just coming out with a great mindset, knowing that it’s a must-win game for us,” Floyd said. “It was definitely a burst of energy, simply because we gotta win, man. We gotta win every game.”
