The Los Angeles Lakers are less than an hour away from starting their eighth and final seeding game on Thursday afternoon against the Sacramento Kings. And while LeBron James is expected to play in today’s game, he won’t be finishing it.
Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group reported from Frank Vogel’s pregame media conference that the Lakers will rest LeBron James in the second half of their game against the Sacramento Kings. The Lakers will also be without Kyle Kuzma and Alex Caruso in today’s game.
LeBron will start but will only play a half.
New to the starting lineup today: Markieff Morris and Talen Horton-Tucker(!!!!).

The Lakers are going to give the LeBron the rest of the day off but they still wanted to get him a workout, seeing as the earliest possible date for the Lakers to play is Monday, but could be as late as Tuesday, in case the Western Conference play-in series extends to a second game on Sunday.
Luckily for the Lakers, they already snapped their previous losing streak so they don’t have to carry the bad feelings of ending the season a losing streak.
