Before the festivities can begin at All-Star weekend in Cleveland, captains LeBron James and Kevin Durant linked up to make their picks for the All-Star draft.
Durant and James were named captains after receiving the most votes from fans. With the Los Angeles Lakers forward receiving the first overall pick, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo came off the board first to Team James.
After Durant opted to select Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid with the second pick instead of his former teammate, James used the No. 3 overall pick to take Golden State Warriors guard, Steph Curry.

For the second consecutive season, James used one of his picks in the All-Star draft to land “the greatest shooter in NBA history.” Alongside James and Antetokounmpo in Atlanta in 2021, Curry tallied 28 points with eight 3- pointers.
Along with James and Antetokounmpo, Curry will join forces with Denver’s Nikola Jokic and Chicago’s DeMar Derozan in the starting lineup in Cleveland.
Luka Doncic, Darius Garland, Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell, Fred VanVleet and James Harden will round out the rest of Team LeBron.
The All-Star game will take place on Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. PT at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
