LeBron James said he doesn’t care about playing the Celtics on Christmas Day and the reason why is hilarious

Dad LeBron > Every other LeBron

For the first time on Monday, LeBron James will face the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day.

That’s a huge thing for several reasons. First of all, Christmas Day is arguably the biggest day on the NBA calendar. It’s a tradition. The league’s biggest stars shine the brightest on that day.

Second, we’re talking about LeBron James. He’s arguably the greatest player of all time. Third, we’re talking about the Boston Celtics. That’s arguably the greatest NBA franchise of all time.

There’s a lot of really big stuff colliding here. And LeBron James said he doesn’t care about any of it right now.

After dropping 40 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night, reporters asked James if he’d thought about playing the Celtics on Monday at all yet.

James said he didn’t even want to hear about Christmas Day and the Celtics. The only thing he was worried about for Christmas Day was his daughter getting her presents that morning.

“All I care about tomorrow is a day off. I can give a [expletive] about Monday. Only thing I care about Monday is my daughter waking up and opening her gifts. That’s it. Please don’t even talk to me about Christmas Day right now. Christmas Eve is what I’m looking forward to. I’m ready to get my [expletive] on this couch.”

That’s so hilarious to hear, man. This is the NBA’s biggest player  — the face of the league — admittedly not caring about the league’s biggest day of the year.

He just wants to go be a dad on Monday. And I feel that! Dad LeBron is the best LeBron.

Never change, Bron. Never change.
