LeBron James held out of tonight’s game vs. Houston Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers are not going to have LeBron James play in the second game of a back-to-back tonight against Houston.

The Los Angeles Lakers will complete their final back-to-back of the regular season later this evening against the Houston Rockets, but star player LeBron James will not be a part of the lineup on Thursday night.

The Lakers announced early Thursday afternoon that LeBron will sit tonight’s game with a sore groin, which has been the go-to reason the Lakers have gone to all season long when they rest him. With the Lakers already having locked up the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, they truthfully have little to play for other than keeping their rhythm. If they win tonight, they will need a big lift from Anthony Davis but more importantly, they need their supporting players, who have truthfully yet to show up, to deliver.

The Lakers have struggled offensively so far during this restart. They posted their lowest point total of the season with last night’s 86 points against the Thunder and they were also held to 92 points in their loss last Saturday against the Raptors.
