NASCAR has not been shy when it comes to the schedule and that is expected to continue moving forward. In fact, there have already been talks about the NASCAR Cup Series going to Montreal, Canada with the venue being a possible replacement for Auto Club Speedway.
However, this would not be the only change to the 2024 Cup Series schedule. According to The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi, there has been considerable speculation within the industry that NASCAR could shift the race dates in the 2024 playoffs. One idea that Bianchi mentioned is to take Texas Motor Speedway out of the playoffs and move it to an earlier date.
The racing at Texas has been very underwhelming since it was repaved and many would argue that it doesn’t deserve a date at the most important time of the season. Since Circuit of the Americas takes place in March, it would make sense to move Texas to June or July for its one and only date.
Also, several reports have suggested that NASCAR is expected to release the schedule in the late summer or early fall. The sport has been bold when it relates to making changes and that should be the expectation this time around as well.
