Before they pulled off a nail-biting upset against the Buffalo Bills, the Jacksonville Jaguars got quite the scare Sunday when quarterback Trevor Lawrence left the game with an ankle injury.
The No. 1 overall pick would return later in the game, but fans are likely to still be wondering if the injury could linger beyond Sunday’s big win.
Lawrence himself gave everyone an update, and it sounds like good news.
“Yeah, I’m feeling a little bit better,” Lawrence said after the game (via Jags Wire). “We scanned it, nothing concerning there. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow and the rest of the week. I’m sure it’s going to be sore, but we’ll see. I’m just going to get a bunch of treatment and try to get back healthy.”
“I thought it was a lot worse, then after some time and we scanned it and it was good, and then put a little bit of weight on it, gradually I was feeling better and better,” Lawrence said. “Give it a little bit of time, it helped.”
It wasn’t a pretty win, as the Jags’ defense won the day against Josh Allen and company for a 9-6 victory. That said, the biggest win of the day might just be the fact that Lawrence didn’t suffer a significant injury that would have kept him out for longer than a few plays.
