Another week means another look at where Ohio State is in the major basketball polls. We’ve already seen what the voters had to say in the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll, and now it’s time to check in with the Associated Press.
OSU’s spot in the AP Poll is neither something to get excited about nor lament because the Buckeyes stayed at the same spot it was last week, right at No. 16.
Despite the Buckeyes looking fantastic against Maryland on Sunday, it wasn’t enough to sway the minds of any of the voters, mainly because the Terps have been far from fantastic themselves during Big Ten play. Add that to the Iowa game getting postponed, and well, there just wasn’t much available to swing Ohio State either way.
So what teams are still ahead of the Buckeyes in the top ten of the poll? Auburn remains at No. 1, followed by Gonzaga, Purdue, Arizona, Kentucky, Houston, Duke, Kansas, Texas Tech, and Baylor.
POLL ALERT: Auburn, Gonzaga stay 1-2 in AP Top 25; Texas Tech reaches No. 9; Saint Mary's, Murray State enter poll.

Ohio State will get a shot to improve its ranking and perception this week when it travels to Rutgers on Wednesday, then heads to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan Saturday.
