Lakers-Pistons recap: Lakers survive Pistons comeback in 2OT

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers escaped with a win after going two overtimes with the Detroit Pistons on Saturday.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were in danger of losing for the second time this season to the Detroit Pistons, who entered Saturday night with the league’s worst record at 5-17. But the Lakers held on to beat the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night, xxx-xxx in double overtime. The Lakers led by as many as 17 in the second half but the Pistons made a great comeback to force the game into overtime. While the Pistons did make a valiant effort, they were foiled by LeBron James, who turned in yet another awesome performance as he finished with 33 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds, with eight of his 33 points coming in the second overtime.

Among the plays that sealed the game was this stepback jumper from James over Mason Plumlee.

With the win, the Lakers move to 18-6 on the season and 6-4 at home. Although it wasn’t a pretty win, the Lakers got through an early February night with a victory and LeBron James added a 46-minute night to his MVP resume.
