The Los Angeles Lakers get another chance to not only play basketball on Monday night, but they will also have another opportunity to wrap up the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs. With a win this evening, the Lakers would have a 6-game lead over the Los Angeles Clippers with only five games to play, clinching the No. 1 seed.
The Lakers would have clinched the No. 1 seed with a win over Toronto on Saturday, but the Raptors clearly were not in the mood to give the Lakers any reason to celebrate on Saturday night. So far, the Jazz are 1-1 in their first two games, including a thrilling comeback win over the Pelicans on opening night and then a blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
LeBron James is also still finding his scoring punch in these seeding games. While there have been a lot of high-scorers already, including a 50-point game by Indiana’s TJ Warren, LeBron has yet to score more than 20 points in any of the Lakers games thus far in the bubble.
