On Saturday, the Lady Vols (37-8, 10-7) darted to an early lead by scoring two runs in the second inning and adding a another in the third.
Chelsea Seggern scored the game’s first run when Ally Shipman stole second and took third on an errant throw. The throw allowed Seggern to come home to make the score 1-0.
A sacrifice fly by Kiki Milloy plated Shipman, who had two hits and stole a base against Auburn. Ashley Morgan gave the Lady Vols a 3-0 lead with an RBI single in the third.
The Tigers pulled to within 3-1 in the fifth when Maddison Koepke homered. Auburn added a run in the seventh.
In the circle, Callie Turner and Ashley Rogers hurled a combined four-hitter.
Turner (10-1) went five innings. She gave up one run and two hits, while striking out two.
Rogers pitched the final two frames to earn her third save of the season. She surrendered one unearned run, two hits and had two strikeouts.
